Theater of the Sky by kolahon
A collection of 19 unique artworks
The curtain rises.
The sun, the moon, and the earth appear upon the same stage.
The seasons begin to move, and living things enter their roles.
We arrive somewhere in the middle of the play.
We watch the sky, the rivers, the creatures, and the changing seasons. Then we begin to create stories giving names to what we cannot understand, inventing gods, rituals, and myths to make sense of the world we inhabit.
Stories are passed on, changing with those who tell them.
And when meaning changes, does the world we see change with it?
We enter this theatre as an audience, but the longer we watch, the more we find ourselves within the scene.
Are we watching a play that was already here,
or are we writing its script ourselves?
The curtain remains open.
The play continues.
The name “Kolahon” means “Chaos,” symbolizing a transitional phase filled with questions of existence, identity, relationships, and freedom. His work reflects imagined landscapes shaped by his background in landscape architecture and encounters with nature, where outer and inner worlds begin to overlap.
Kolahon first explored the brush through watercolor, layering surfaces to create depth through light and shadow. This technique later evolved into his digital and NFT practice, where transparency and the act of revealing “what lies within” became central. His works now extend beyond depiction. Each piece becomes a vessel that gives form to abstract purposes, much like tarot cards, serving as a portal to hidden truths and collective emotions.
Through painting, digital media, and installation, Kolahon creates symbolic spaces where light and shadow, chaos and silence, emptiness and wholeness converge. His practice invites viewers to navigate these shifting boundaries in search of balance, mirroring both the artist’s journey and the cycles of our contemporary era.
Kolahon is a contemporary artist whose works have been exhibited in Japan, the United States, Singapore, France, and Italy.
