Since 2021, santiago has been developing Human Kernel, an ongoing project of hand-painted PFPs that examines PFP project culture from an outsider’s perspective.
Several weeks ago, the artist invited people on X to comment on a post in exchange for a painted portrait of their PFP.
This project brings together those two lines of research in a series of portraits depicting both existing and fictional people and organizations.
Santiago is an artist from South America who works with both digital and analog tools, researching language and internet culture.
