Richard Nadler: ArchiTextures
Public Sale | June 12th at 12pm EST
ArchiTextures is a digital art collection by Richard Nadler that explores the delicate tension between architecture, texture, and emotional landscape. Drawing inspiration from iconic mid-century modern architecture, the collection transforms structural forms into a visual language that is both graphically precise and poetically charged.
Each piece is composed using digital techniques and generative AI, which Nadler approaches as a creative collaborator rather than a directive force. This AI-assisted process enables a deep exploration of intricate details: microscopic pointillism, rhythmic linework, and layered textures. It turns facades into woven patterns, architecture into textile-like surfaces, and windows into harmonic sequences. Organic elements such as plants, stones, and sky merge seamlessly with built environments, resulting in a surreal fusion of order with wilderness, control with chaos. Though digitally crafted, ArchiTextures evokes the patience and intentionality of analog artmaking. It invites reflection on space, memory, and the innate human desire to find structure within nature.
Richard Nadler is a contemporary digital artist based in Munich, Germany, whose innovative work explores the dynamic interplay between tradition, artificial intelligence, and digital media. Vangart, a French studio honored as a Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant), specializes in transforming images—paintings, generative works, or photographs—into singular embroidered artworks that fuse tradition with innovation. Each piece is crafted in-house at their Lyon atelier, beginning with a custom embroidery program and culminating in large-format machine embroidery, then meticulously hand-finished. Threads are carefully selected for color, material, and finish, while fabrics are sourced from one of France’s oldest textile houses, also based in Lyon. This fully local, end-to-end process ensures every Vangart creation embodies precision, authenticity, and timeless artistry.
