Exhale

Have you ever wondered why everyone seems to love sunsets and sunrises? Or why wide, sweeping vistas capture our imagination more than narrow, enclosed views? My own theory about this can be summed up in one word: Safety. Forget old sailors' aphorisms; if you're in a place in the world where the sky glows pink and red and orange, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The same goes for having miles of visibility; unknown threats can't sneak up on you here, and you've got a better chance at suriviving any dangers that *do* roll your way. These feelings of security transfer over to our artistic and visual preferences, leading to quiet moments spent sipping coffee in the morning light, or to grueling hikes to reach the best possible vantage point. We all seek safety in our own ways. --- This morning scene at Preikestolein in Norway is one of my favorite memories from that trip. We woke up an hour early and hiked up to the bluffs above the rock to get the best view of the campers in their tents below taking in the sunrise. In accordance with the themes of the caption above, this sunrise shot is one of the widest-angle images I've ever minted as an NFT. --- **Artist:** Steve Walasavage **Series:** Non-Fungible Travels **Collection:** SuperRare **Edition:** 1/1 NFT --- Extended Editorial License: Can be used to display privately, or in commercial and non-commercial settings, or in groups with an unlimited number of participants.
