TIME TO REFLECT I

“You can’t build on top of success you haven’t acknowledged” — Unknown If you’re anything like me, then reflecting on the past is often limited to thinking about things that could have been done better. This year, however, is different and if this space has taught me anything over the past 12 months, it’s to view the world through and entirely new lens, think bigger and challenge the old ways. The old me would have look back at the last year and been able to recite to you every single detail of where I did hit the mark, people I wish I’d connected with better, investments opportunities I missed, wrong decisions I made and days where I felt I didn’t work hard enough. I genuinely thought, the harder I can be on myself, the better I can become. I can tell you now there is no path to success with that mindset. It was only recently that my girlfriend, who knows better than anyone how hard I am on myself, shared this very quote with me and asked me to sit down and write out all of the small moments in the last 12 months I did make the right call, all of the opportunities I did take advantage of and all of the relationships I did cultivate. It was far from easy as I often found myself struggling to appreciate my success. I felt like I still hadn’t achieve enough to give myself a good old pat on the back. To me, I am just getting started. But it was in that very moment it dawned on me, if I can’t appreciate the journey, what is there to appreciate at all? A true reflection reflects everything, all of the highs with all of the lows. To truly grow and become more self-aware, it’s our capacity to fully acknowledge the successes we’ve achieved that will give us the greatest chance of future growth and progression. // The collector will have the option to receive a gallery quality, framed physical print of the image alongside the NFT.
