No one knew for sure whether the Oracle of Mulholland wore an eye patch to enhance her air of mystery, but the effect was undeniably unsettling. She would park her vintage car on a secluded stretch of Mulholland Drive, transforming the backseat into a makeshift fortune-telling parlor.
A woman of extreme beauty, her flowing black curls and piercing dark eyes were as enchanting as they were disarming. She knew how to use her looks to her advantage, spinning her allure into a lucrative hustle.
Her gift for second sight, passed down from a distant Irish ancestor, was her true moneymaker. Seated in the back of her car, she would trace the lines of her clients' palms, her solitary eye observing them with an intensity that seemed to strip away their facades.
Whispers circulated about a secret black book she kept, allegedly filled with the names of Hollywood’s elite. But the Oracle remained an elusive enigma, her truth buried under layers of rumor and intrigue.
One piece of advice echoed through the underbelly of LA: always, always heed the Oracle’s words.
