Formation

This image is one of three that I have shared from my April, 2022 encounter with Grizzly Bear #399 and her sub-adult cubs. There isn't much more passion or feeling I can share here that wasn't already shared in my piece titled, "Matriarch" sold on SuperRare to batsoupyum in 2022. This experience and encounter with these bears will always be one of the most magical moments in my life. I was so fortunate to see her a day and a half after she came out of hibernation. Grand Teton National Park was mostly shut down for spring and there were very few people around. I saw them come into view from a distance, and had only a couple of minutes to capture them all coming across a field in my direction and then turning to march off in perfect grizzly bear formation with 399 leading the way as they headed into the trees. I spent the next 30 minutes catching partial glimpses of them in the trees, watching the cubs play, and listening to them play growl as the spring sun set. There are moments in nature that make all the time spent traveling, searching, waiting and attempting to capture the perfect moments worth it. This evening tops the list as one of my best nights ever. This is my second black-and-white piece created in 16x9 format and in the series, Timeless on SuperRare.
