The homestead is quiet now.
Its walls have weathered beneath countless seasons,
its rooms long since emptied,
its stories carried away by wind and time.
Yet one window remains.
A simple frame of aging wood,
worn by sun, snow, and passing years.
Beyond it, the Grand Tetons rise.
Unchanged.
Their jagged peaks still catch the morning light.
Their shadows still stretch across the valley floor.
Their presence still commands the horizon,
just as it did generations ago.
And for a moment,
the distance between past and present disappears.
And through this weathered frame,
we are offered a glimpse of an older West,
a window to yesterday.
