Pizzagate is a bizarre theory that claimed children were being sex-trafficked from the Comet Ping-Pong restaurant basement in Washington DC by high-ranking Democrats. It is considered a predecessor to QAnon. There is no basement at the Comet pizzeria. Inspired by this narrative, widely shared on social media, a man entered the restaurant with a loaded gun and fired shots in his search for the children.
