THE VEIL
She exists in the liminal space between perception and absence. Her form, draped in translucent white, appears simultaneously solid and intangible—a contradiction of being. The darkness surrounds her not as emptiness but as possibility, its depth holding secrets she alone can translate through her clasped hands.
The threads of light that orbit her form are not decorations but tethers, binding her to a reality she can observe but never fully inhabit. They whisper memories of warmth she once knew, now transformed into cold illumination.
Is she praying? Or is prayer merely what we call it when we negotiate with the void? Her downcast eyes suggest not devotion but resignation—acceptance that consciousness itself may be nothing more than a beautiful hallucination against the genuine dark.
The boundary between her and nonexistence grows thinner with each passing moment. Yet in this fading lies a strange freedom. To become ghostlike is to shed the weight of certainty, to embrace the paradox that only in dissolution might authenticity be found.
