The 53rd Æther, The Psyvorlith.
The Psyvorlith is a mischievous creature that can bend perception and twist reality in the minds of others. In many ways it is the embodiment of manipulation and deceit. Its presence conflicts with the very nature of truth, forcing those under its influence to question what is real. Psyvorliths thrive by controlling thoughts and weaving intricate illusions, trapping victims in false realities that feel indistinguishable from reality. This elusive entity feeds on the minds of others (humans are a delicacy) often during moments of deep existentialism, mental exhaustion, or psychological fragility. Once inside the mind, the Psyvorlith crafts illusions that resonate with its victim’s hopeless desires or fears. The more emotional energy it draws from these experiences, the stronger it becomes, feeding on the confusion it enhances. People with depression and other mental illnesses are especially susceptible to its manipulation and the illusions it projects often leaves its victims in a more weakened and broken mental stateVisually, Psyvorliths appear as an amorphous, shifting figure, its glowing spiral eyes hypnotizing those who meet its gaze. As it feeds, the red flaps on the side of its head begin to glow and sparkle with stunning radiance.Despite their immense power, Psyvorliths are not invulnerable. Those with sharp clarity of thought, such as lucid dreamers or individuals with unyielding resolve, can break free from its illusions. When its deception is shattered, Psyvorliths weaken and often dissipate for a time. The Psyvorlith is a parasitic force, feeding on the vulnerable-minded. It is directly responsible for many of the suicides found in our world on a yearly basis.
