THE OBLIVION OF THE FIRST SEAL: THE DESCENT OF PESTILENCE
When the Leopard Priest completed his forbidden transmutations and lowered his clawed hands into the pristine waters, a silent, venomous sickness crept through the hidden veins of the soil. The land did not scream; it began to curdle. From the stagnant, plague-ridden depths of the great black pond, the ancient fog thickened into a shape. He arrived without a horse, stepping directly out of the poisoned, defiled waters that had once sustained the realm. The curse had found its flesh.
And so, it echoes the sacred warning of Revelation, Chapter 6, Verse 2: “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”
Yet, into these formerly abundant lands, He brought no conventional war. In place of the biblical bow, He carried something far more refined and sophisticated for His grim execution — an archaic, heavy iron crossbow. His purpose remained unyielding: to sow disease and deep sorrow where prosperity once reigned. He stepped onto the moss-covered roots of the ancient forest not as a transient guest, but as a cruel tyrant-ruler, sovereign of ruins, generous only with contagion and sweeping epidemics wherever His shadow fell. A silver crown of hollow authority sat upon his skeletal, bone-textured brow, and beneath the heavy hood, twin eyeless sockets burned with the dim embers of an uncurable plague.
The destruction of the kingdom was slow, absolute, and silent. Where He walked, the heather withered on the stone, and the cattle rotted in the mist. The great stone fortresses that once withstood legions could not bar his entry; his breath passed through the thick oak gates like a damp winter chill. The wheat in the fields turned to grey ash before the harvest, and the wells became bitter as wormwood. Proud lords found that their heavy broadswords were useless against an enemy that bled no blood.
This was the ancient, inevitable reckoning. The grand illusion of human dominance evaporated into the damp air, proving that Nature always humbles man, effortlessly setting him in his rightful place. Before her overwhelming, crushing power, all of mankind's empires, stones, and ambitions are revealed to be absolute nothingness. The pride of man was broken not by a rival king, but by the quiet, unstoppable decay of the very earth beneath his feet.
A sudden, uncontainable plague knows no mercy. It shatters the individual, fragile fates of mortal men in their stone cottages just as brutally as it breaks entire, ancient kingdoms with their proud peoples. It rewrites histories in a single breath, turning crowded stone cities into silent, overgrown cemeteries.
He stands motionless in the deep, suffocating thicket, watching the slow, irreversible rot of everything that once claimed to be eternal. The first domino has fallen. The First Horseman has taken his throne amidst the ruins.
But as the poisoned wind howls through the empty, dead valleys of the North, it carries a terrifying, low whisper through the gnarled trees: He is merely the vanguard. The air is already growing hot, and the smell of sulfur is rising from the dirt. He is not alone. The others are coming.
