The watchers gather.
The gathering becomes an eye.
The eye generates records.
The records accumulate into a chamber where observation folds back upon itself.
As the work progresses, individual perception becomes collective perception, collective perception becomes institutional abstraction, and abstraction ultimately becomes self-recursive consciousness.
Artist Statement:
I noticed Mlibty exploring systems in a way I admired, and that pushed me further into my own obsessions. This work emerged after spending time studying the interactive systems and conceptual world-building present in Mlibty's practice. Rather than referencing any specific work directly, that encounter became a catalyst for exploring my own recurring themes of visibility, bureaucracy, collective perception, and recursive consciousness.
