Oro, Mar, y Sangre

Venezuela has been in the midst of a catastrophic socio-political and economic crisis for over a decade. As of last month, it is estimated that around 7 million refugees and migrants have left the country, making this the largest ever recorded refugee crisis in the Americas. In addition, more than three-quarters of Venezuela’s population live on less than $1.90 a day, the benchmark for extreme poverty. If you were to search for "Venezuela" on any search engine, this is the amalgamation of words that you will frequently see. Not descriptions of the beauty of our beaches or the depths of our jungles, no mention of the culture that runs deep through the blood of our people, but instead cries for help from a country in crisis. The first step towards change is awareness. Let's make a change.
