Finding Balance

“Intentional living is the art of making our own choices before others' choices make us.” Richie Norton 'Finding Balance' represents the process of trying to find some life balance when external factors seem overwhelming. A focused effort on intentional living. Over the course of the pandemic my small family was stranded at sea for almost two years, essentially abandoned by our country. At times this became an acute, potentially life-threatening issue. It took a concerted effort to shift our mindsets from reactive living, moving from crisis to crisis, to intentional living. Since this experience I think a lot about intentional living. Too many of us just drift along letting others make choices about our lives. It’s not intentional; it's a passive response to achieve lower immediate stress levels. In the long term, if you don't live intentionally, if you don't make decisions for yourself in the interest of yourself, others will make decisions for you in their own interests.
