My Journey to document these crazy or unique waves has involved me to putting myself in many places just to see what happens. This is the process of shooting waves. just be there, ready.
Driving towards this location in the darkness, I could see what looked like complete cloud cover. In this remote location, you take what you are given and I journeyed down the coast on the ski to this wave called Huzzas, Upon a small sliver of light between the land and clouds along the distant horizon, let the sun peak through and transform into one of the most stunning sunrises I have witnessed and one that was experienced alone, far out to sea on the Southern Ocean, miles from any contact as the sky exploded in a fireball.
The cloud layers illumination reflecting back onto the oceans surface. Then there is this abstract moment. Id love you to be able to see the moment that preceded this sculpture. it looked like the ocean folding in on itself as two waves met together, but only for a split second before all the energy went skyward.
Yep ,this is huzzas, but id likke for this to live in this collection, I feel its perfect here as a unique sculptural fireball explosion that showcases of the abstract beauty of the ocean on Earth.
