Kaarakin is the aboriginal name for the endangered black cockatoo species found only in the south west of Western Australia.
I have made two visits with donations to the Kaarakin Cockatoo Conservation centre where they rehabilitate almost 400 birds per year with next to zero government assistance.
It was a very incredible experience to be around these majestic birds, and quick to see why they are so quick to attach themselves to kindness as they are a kind creature themselves. We are removing bush lands at a rapid rate reducing their ability to find empty tree hollows to breed. Would be amazing to make a larger donation to the centre to help them fund a bigger conservation effort.
