One of the craziest sunsets I have ever witnessed. At this point in time I was working on a mine site as a field technician, picking up bags of dirt and then putting them down somewhere else. This mine site happens to be pillaging the earth in the Karinjini Ranges of the Pilbara region in the North of Western Australia. This 300 million year old mountain range is truly spectacular, and due to their ancient nature hold a lot of mineralised Iron ore that we use as metal. It was a challenge for me, watching the earth get pillaged infront of my eyes, knowing that I am a hypocrite. complicit in its destruction for something we use every day in human life.
At this point in my creative journey i was completely enamoured with landscape photography, so I would have my camera everywhere with me. This photograph and the feeling of being immersed in crimson will forever be etched in my memory. I dont miss working on the mine site.
