Katsu believes that the drone is an almost spiritual representation of the human machine coexistence.
This performative video captures the studio work of KATSU using a KATSURU drone prototype. The phrase “the world need more shit” is a commentary on the consumerist condition as well as a misuse of technology commonly seen in KATSU’s work.
Katsu is known as one of the pioneers in drone painting and drone graffiti. In 2015 he received global attention for being the first artist to use a drone for graffiti defacing a Kendall Jenner billboard in nyc.
Since then Katsu has created bodies of drone painting works and has developed the KATSURU drone project with partners TSURU ROBOTICS.
