The Queen Of The Steering Wheel
Featuring the Bugatti Type 35B at Targa Florio 1928.
Imagine how the man’s world of racing reacted back in 1928 when Eliška Junková finished 5th in that year’s Targa Florio road race, having led for much of the route. Ms Bugatti, as was popularly known, had a slight advantage over her race counterparts - she had walked the entire 108 km (67mile) track the previous evening, to familiarise herself with every turn and surprise.
Set in 1928, and driving her Bugatti Type 35B, Eliška Junková is seen in a bird’s-eye view, now commonly referred to as a ‘drone-eye’ view, at the Bugatti team pit-stop during the Targa Florio in Sicily, one of the sport’s most demanding and dangerous events. This view could be narrated or written about from the 1920s, but not visually seen from races back then.
