This piece began out of certain free associations I had during some complications with my body. The scene itself is carved out within the subject’s body. The body is arrested space without flow—decay is ubiquitous, both from within and without. From above, there is a meeting of the “heads of the house”, congregating over the last remaining life from within: a plant inside a human vase. Whereas below, there is an unspeakable enteric protest: a curved figure billows out hot gas into a nearby ulceration. The scene was entirely designed in 3D, using shadow passages to support the arrangement.
