QUBE 0x|GHZ⟩

Prepared and measured, An object approaching, Pulsing through the void. The QUBE is a commentary on quantum computing company names, society's obsession with certain geometry, and the state of a disruptive technology still in its infancy. A visualization and sonification of a 5 qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state generated from an IBM Quantum computer (Belem). This piece showcases the beauty of entanglement. Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon which arises when a group of particles interact such that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently of the others, even over large distance. The GHZ state is an instantiation of this phenomenon, described as entangling at least three subsystems or qubits together. It has been used in quantum communication and cryptography in addition to device characterization. Certain measurements could collapse the GHZ state into a mixed or pure state. The GHZ state is a maximally entangled quantum state. The first owner of the QUBE may reach out to me via social media to claim a 3D model, and instructions on how to build their own QUBE in meatspace if they so choose. We like the entanglement.
