Hiemal

In the cold hiemal air, frost begins to decorate every surface. The atmosphere is crisp and clear as winter takes grip. I love waking on these mornings and going for a walk, the only noise is the frozen grass crunching beneath my feet, the world almost frozen into a hush as if caught in a winters dream. This tiny structure you see in the photograph is actually a 2mm frost crystal. Designed naturally by mother nature over night on my fence post as the temperature plummets to -8. A stunning piece of art. I see a face, a tall figure erupting from the cold crystals below. Full size tiff file is available at request for the collector.
