The Golden Hunter

A tiny predator in vast expanse of golden yellow lichen. Praying mantis have been on this planet since the Jurassic period. They are the only know insect to have a unique feature called stereoscopic vision, which allows them to see in three dimensions and accurately judge the distance of their prey. I have been fascinated with these creatures since I was a young boy, they just intrigue me so much, and I love nothing more than raising them, watching them breed, documenting their life cycle for citizen science projects and taking them into local schools to educate and inspire the next generation of naturalists! Macro photography is one the most difficult genres of photography yet one of the most rewarding.
