I use historical documents mostly prints and handmade contemporary witnesses of political and religious culture. This picture is a gravure from 1900 from my collection „to deconstruct“ with the title: "LA VERGINE COL DIVIN SUO PORTATO". That means translated: “THE VIRGIN WITH HER DEVINE CARRIED“. In my physical work, I cut the originals and reassemble them geometrically to make them appear more contemporary. With digital deconstruction there are more options to play with layers and animations. I love the transfer from analog art to digital. It is very topical and yet it opens a lot of questions. For example, in this work I asked myself: where is the frame? A physical work of art is only finished when it has the right passepartout and frame. That's why I'm playing with a frame to find out what I like more. This is definitely a very interesting topic to discuss.
