Squaring the circle is primarily a mathematical paradox contemplated by ancient geometers. However, it is also a philosophical metaphor as circles signify the eternal (infinite shape), while, according to Empedocles, the square signifies the material (solid shape) and has a correlation with the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. These four elements are represented in the colors reflecting on the shapes.
