burst_ artwork 87 / INTERNET INTERNET INTERNET: The internet is omnipresent and it is one of our greatest achievements as human beings. In this artwork my aim was to capture the internet visually and by sound. The future of the internet is web 3.0 “Web 3.0 is the upcoming third generation of the internet where websites and apps will be able to process information in a smart human-like way through technologies like machine learning (ML), Big Data, decentralized ledger technology (DLT), etc.“ (definition by coinmarketcap.com) In the artwork web 3.0 is represented by highlighting word INTERNET 3 times on black background - the surface of the internet. Below the main internet (surface) there is the so called deep web and even more below that there is maybe a mythical place shrouded in legend called “Marianas Web“ named by the deepest oceanic trench “Marianas Trench“. (“Depending on where you get your Mariana's Web myths, it's where you'll find "the darkest secrets humanity has in its history," the secret location of Atlantis and "the Vatican secret archives," or a database of archives belonging to the most powerful intelligence agencies on Earth. Many believe that Mariana's is home to an all-powerful, female artificial intelligence entity.“ Quote by: @violetblue) In the sound design I used elements which represent all of the mentioned topics above. The main stereo space in which the sound is embedded you can hear in the background is a recording of an actual data center with thousands of servers. Like used on server farms where all the computational calculating is happening to mine bitcoin for example. It gives the whole sound design its ground base, the vast endless white noise one can hear standing in a hall full with servers. The Synthesizer plugin used for the main synthetic sound is simulating deep ocean sounds. A place where all of our fiber optic cables are buried under the oceanic ground and
where all the lifelines of the internet run. The clicking sounds and sound effects are in synchronicity with the animated elements in the artwork. These sounds represents future quantum computers that will take our computing power and evolution to the next level that we cannot understand today. - Comes with the physical piece (painting on canvas, 24 x 8 cm) + AR (digital + physical augmentation) - Sound Design by: burst_ - Pandemic 2021, MP4, 2160 × 2888
