It's amazing how much work it takes to tweak something like this so that the timing and transitions and effects are perfect, but the result can really be worth the effort. This video does not show the actual process I used to get from point A to point B, but it does present an interesting bit of insight into what goes on in my brain as I move from initial idea to completed work.
