Approximately 4.5 billion years ago, the Earth was formed.
About 200,000 years ago, the modern human species first appeared.
We barely have 6,000 years of recorded historical civilization.
In 1540, an unprecedented draught occurred in Europe. Almost no rain fell for a period of eleven months. Forests all throughout the world caught fire. Sunlight was obscured by choking smoke. The dry year saw no thunderstorms at all. Centuries later, because of the significant climatic anomalies that led to a drop in the average worldwide temperature, 1816 is known as the Year Without a Summer. I sometimes think about how often we try to destroy our world and drown it in blood. However, I quickly recall that our planet has been through many difficult times over the course of its billions of years, hiding mysteries and long-forgotten stories that will likely never be discovered. Time is working against us, and eventually only the dry wind will recall our names.
