I never got them feeding in my life. Once again rare. For so many reasons.
I was having a tough time with anxiety lately being it was Mothers Day. Had to see nature and embrace inner beauty. Hope you enjoy this art. Mola is one of a kind.
Sunfish, also known as mola, are fascinating creatures! They're the largest bony fish in the world, with some species weighing up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kilograms) and measuring over 10 feet (3 meters) from fin to fin. Despite their size, they primarily feed on jellyfish and other small oceanic creatures. One of the most distinctive features of sunfish is their peculiar appearance, with a flattened, disk-like body and a rough, leathery skin texture. These gentle giants are found in temperate and tropical oceans worldwide and are known for their unique swimming behavior, often basking near the surface of the water to warm up in the sun.
