Posting this art piece brings me great Joy!
Not only did this man create art that has been unseen for decades but he does it from all natural resources.
Tucked away in Hana Maui. Father figure name Jack nickname Jackie! He comes from a long line of Hawaiian Ancestry. Takes 3 hour drive into the remote forest location of the Tropics. Maui is known for it's lush beaches most of the Island. But In Hana a.k.a Road To Hana its a Tropical Paradise with Waterfalls along the way and Zero Cell Phone Service. All homes are completely off grid. Meaning no Electric, Water, or Sewer. That has to be all established by the ones living in the area. Lush green Forest resides with deep roots of Hawaiian Ancestry. Burial Sites resides above beautiful Black Sand Beaches. Unlike any other location in Hawaii.
Since the start I have seen Jack make the most incredible art Pieces. His mind is intricate and full of Art. Man that lives amongst the Jungle which I can touch more on later.
He was ready to share his art after I have showed him Web 3. He is not one who cares much for traditional art. From his mind all art is in his mind. Jack doesn't live for $ but for life. He thrives in the Forest every single day. Decades of Seclusion from to many humans he finds peace amongst the Land. Jack Defines living off the land and rather live amongst his ancestors.
We had a very long discussion as his Health isn't what is used to be. He is now 65 and ready to keep creating art. One thing he mentioned was to help him get a truck. He had the very same Toyota Truck for 20 Years. The area where he lives all trucks do need 4x4. My hopes will be his art will speak to you. Below will be the description of his very first 1/1 that I was given approval to mint. He said Web 3 only!
I showed him all art on Web 3 which include the best of the best. That is when he felt like he belonged in Web 3. His Computer literacy is not the best. So I will be here to mint his art and write down word for word.
Please note I will be posting this up as the very first 1/1. Once I can get his art into Web 3 I will be doing more Pieces in a Different Collection on SuperRare.
Lets start with this Very Art Piece we have Pictured here. Jack took 4 Months on this Piece to design.
The top portion you will see the Coconut Husk carved like a fishing pole with its line hanging down. The white Ball shaped Shells are like pearls from the shoreline in Hana. Carving the Coconut Husk to the exact Curve is incredible in itself.
The second layer of this Art Piece is another Coconut. Somewhat shaped like a football. You can see how Jack Improvised it for this specific look. Once his attached the Eyes he then opened up the mouth and created one ear.
This then created a Fish. The fish looks up ready to be hooked by the Fishing line above the head.
Looking further down we see the Bottom of the Fish. Coral head meets the bottom as the Fish do come from that exact location when we fish for them. The glue that attached that portion is actually sap from the Plumeria Tree.
The Art Piece is all natural nothing was used from any outside source.
From the coral-reef we see a very large Opihi shell to the right. The opihi is Muscles of Hawaii. The feeders that reside of the rocks. Hawaiians fed that mainly to royalty. The opihi shell is beautiful.
We move down to the wooden stance area. The top has more coral of different color for Contrast.
Wooden Base is from a Coconut Palm Tree. Stronger on the base and has much darker sheen.
Taking a look at the very front on the Base portion. That is covered in Sea Glass. Glass from the sea is normally from boats, or humans then washed a shore creating very smooth like look. The colors showcase the fruits of life that Jack said is why we are alive. He then shed a tear!
Jack made the shape of Maui which I thought was amazing in itself.
He is one of the Greatest artist I have ever met and very thankful to have known him for so many years.
