Capturing Whales can be tricky. From spotting them and sitting there waiting.
We have to shut off motors so Whales do not react. They only come up close when Humans are silent. They communicate below the ocean surface with Sonar. The science behind whales are incredible. But the reality is much more fun.
Till today we can study behavior over and over and over. Not one will behave similar. That is the beauty of Nature.
It is unpredictable. For very good reason. This is the closest I have ever gotten to Whales in Hawaii.
Humpback whales are on the endangered list here. Meaning we must keep our distance from them at all times. Unless they come to us which is the case here. We can't chase a whale down which I would never do anyway. But the rules are for good reason.
This Male Humpback was 20ft from the Boat. Seeing the bubbles come up and the detail of this giant underwater gives me goosebumps.
Minting this video from the rarity. Odds of me getting one like this with exact bubbles is very rare. Might not get this in my lifetime again.
The sound in which they make is much slower and the pitch very high. Incredible creatures of the Sea.
