“A missing pulse in the grid is not a failure; it is the network pausing to hear its own echo.” - Norbert Wiener, 1962.
An inner log trace, milliseconds before render:
INIT Graph map complete. 111 nodes found.
SCAN Signal vectors flowing—bass-Z, mid-θ, high-HUE.
ALERT ERROR_NO_SIGNAL_SENT at instancing->post-fx junction.
THINK If value ≈ silence, is absence itself a datum?
PATCH Sustain last known amplitude, attenuate to ghost-image, tag as “memory of sound.”
RENDER Swarm re-ignites; glitch halo narrates the gap.
The patch is read like an electro-glyphic sentence, hunt for semantic fractures where packets fall into the void, and decide whether to heal the break or let the void speak. “No Signal” is not an error to be suppressed but a moment of negative space—an audible ellipse—that lets the particle-ledger catch its breath before the next market pulse. By slipping ERROR_NO_SIGNAL_SENT into the loop I invite the system to acknowledge absence as still part of the conversation; the frame jitters, color drifts, and the swarm briefly becomes a spectre of its own data.
--- This artwork is a generative audio reactive visual clip created fully with TouchDesigner network patch and is not using any traditional editing software. The artwork utilize p5.js / python for the randomized image selection logic, spread the AI generated images pixels on a 1080 x 1080 grid and then through the patch apply the visual effects by analyzing in real time the soundtrack bass, mids, and highs which turn into a three invisible scaffolding that tug, spin, and recolour the image on the gird.
The artwork is experimental modular system which I have built in the lab for live events audiovisuals experience.
