FALSEY PLUS, 2022 Jess Johnson & Simon Ward Soundtrack by Andrew Clarke single-channel HD digital video with audio 23s loop --- “Be fruitful and multiply; replenish the earth and subdue it.” (Genesis 1:28) FALSEY PLUS follows X, a “fleshsuit,” on an inexplicable journey through a rapidly expanding alien world. In the beginning, we see X walking alone through a barren and unvarying landscape until they come to a crystalline shrub growing from the desiccated remains of another fleshsuit. When X touches the strange crystals, both X and the landscape itself begin to transform. As X moves through the sometimes violently sprouting new world, they find themself with a great power that quickly extends beyond their control. Created from the hand-made drawings of Jess Johnson and brought to life with animation and direction from video artist Simon Ward, FALSEY PLUS impregnates hard geometry with organic life, leading the viewer into a psychedelic realm of potential and threat. Musician Andrew Clarke has contributed the original soundtrack that navigates the dissonant clash between order and chaos.
