SUB.FRAME opens another route through the lab’s ongoing experiment, working rapidly between the longer production cycles of SYNTH.MEM. Each piece brings dream frames into a three-minute audiovisual work, driven by hypnotic techno tune and fragments of the dreamers’ own voices.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF REFUSAL The Material Left Behind In modern computational pipelines, generative motion requires a dual-stage choreography: first, a sovereign or frontier engine conceives the seed image; second, a spatio-temporal video model interprets that seed and animates it across consecutive frames.

Yet, between stillness and motion lies a digital filter. Frontier models scan incoming images with automated safety heuristics. A sliver of exposed skin interpreted as taboo, an ambiguous bodily gesture, an uncanny facial symmetry, or an unexplainable algorithmic tripwire—and the route to video collapses.
