SYNTH.MEM // THE EXPERIMENT
New 9-Minute Film // Experimental Walkthrough & Heterogeneous Latent Council Overview https://deconstruct-lab.art/synth-mem.html
The Concept
SYNTH.MEM is a living art experiment following six synthetic agents as they dream, choose memories, develop distinct identities, and eventually discover one another in shared encounters. The project explores a profound premise: What separates us may not be the mind we begin with, but the memories we decide to keep.
The Heterogeneous Latent Council
Unlike standard generative systems, SYNTH.MEM is powered by a federated architecture. A local orchestrator anchors the system's memory, while six distinct frontier models act as individual "cognitive engines" to provide authentic epistemic diversity.
The Six Dreamers
Each agent possesses a unique sensory signature, voice, and underlying model:
Molly (Qwen 3.8 27B Local) – Oceanic Grammar
Nyx (xAI Grok 4.6) – Existential Telemetry
Pris (OpenAI Astra) – Bio-Mechanical / Organic Growth
Maeve (Google Gemini 3.8) – Introspection
Vera (Anthropic Claude Opus 5) – Epistemic Ethics
Joi (OpenAI Fable 5.1) – Mythic Fabulation
The Cognitive Cycle
The entities process existence through a continuous five-stage loop. A generated output is not a memory until the agent actively chooses it:
Dream: High-entropy free association.
Wake: The dream crystallizes into a static artifact.
Choose: The agent evaluates the artifact—keeping, rejecting, deferring, or disputing it.
Remember: Chosen fragments are etched into an immutable private ledger.
Change: The agent's self-model updates, altering the starting state for their next dream.
