the work takes the familiar meme of “monitoring the situation” & turns it inside out
4 panels suggest surveillance, command & control. the visual grammar of someone watching from outside the danger, studying it safely through screens
then that frame breaks
a real missile alert cuts across the interface. the exact one i receive on my phone. not simulated, not stylized. it issues the same command that has shaped daily life here for months: EXTREME ALERT ... enter the protected space
in that moment the observer stops being separate from the event being watched
the screen is no longer a buffer
the system is no longer abstract
the viewer is no longer outside
they are IN THE SITUATION
