My mother's roots are from New Orleans, Louisiana. She always talked about her mother as well. During her late 40's I remember she took a trip down there, some of the best cooked food in the world is from New Orleans, that's a fact. I always wondered how she could cook so well with the best spices. Which reminds me, a Cowboy needs to remember his roots. I damn sure remember mine. It's time to pour another glass of scotch whiskey and reminisce about the good ol' days. My mother passed a few years ago during the Covid lockdown. I wasn't able to see her after pushing back my arrival date to a few days later. The retirement home locked down and I haven't see her since. This art represents my mother's roots and spirit. One day I will go down there and plant a tree for her. I miss you mother. Rest in peace.
