In the most secluded, god-forsaken corners of Dark Kingdom, where the reeds stand as a dense, dry wall, hides an ancient, abandoned pool. The water here is as black as pitch and utterly motionless, as if time itself has frozen over its dark mirror. Giant water lilies cover the surface of the deep, concealing within their glossy abyss the primordial secrets of a land that has long forgotten how to give birth to life.
He came here under the cover of the deepest, most impenetrable night. The Priest of the Forgotten Pool. A guardian of primeval darkness, whose body is shrouded in a heavy cowl, and whose head is crowned with a massive, terrifying green-and-gold leopard helmet. The ornate golden patterns on his mask and the scarlet ritual feathers have frozen in the twilight of the thicket, like a totem from a vanished era when gods still heard the prayers of mortals. Upon his chest rests a heavy necklace of golden discs, ready to catch the final, fleeting reflections of a dying world.
The Priest descended to the very edge of the water and seated himself upon the cold, mossy stones, lowering his feet into the water. His posture is monumental and predatory, yet completely still - resembling a leopard frozen in absolute stasis before a fatal spring. The stone ridge around him has been transformed into a ritual altar. The live flames of candles flicker in the stale night air, cutting through the thick midnight haze with sharp horizontal beams and leaving long, trembling golden paths of reflections across the black surface of the water.
But this ritual is neither penance nor a plea for salvation. The Priest remains in a concentrated trance of power, his body locked in deep meditative stasis. He came to defile this pool. To send a terminal hex through the veins of the fading Kingdom.
Through the ivy leaves and the reeds, directly from the very depths of the earth, dense streams of mystical smoke have begun to seep out in a wondrous and ominous manner. The water itself seems to breathe this toxic, mystical fog, enveloping the Priest’s knees and erasing the boundary where the fabric of his garment meets the abyss. Through silent incantations whispered into the midnight thicket, he unleashes a black blight upon the realm's water arteries. This invocation is the first falling domino, the ultimate catalyst for the final undoing. The curse cast upon this stagnant pool will flow further - into castle wells and valley rivers, poisoning the last drops of hope.
The Priest remains motionless, staring into his own reflection in the pool. He knows what the lords in their castles, blinded by ambition, do not yet see: the process of collapse is now irreversible. The water is defiled, the seal is broken, and this silent ritual has already opened the gates for those whose names cannot yet be spoken aloud - the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, whose hooves will soon crush this world into dust.
Observing his ominous, unmoving silhouette among the glowing golden spheres of candles, one is struck by a heavy realization of how terrifyingly fragile our world truly is. It takes so few sudden challenges of evil to inflict damage so profound that it can never be compensated or undone. The future, even the most immediate, becomes utterly unpredictable for everyone, leaving no choice but to absorb the shock, accept the warped reality, and attempt to adapt - or, if adaptation fails, bow to absolute oblivion. The Priest holds his silent vigil upon the ruins of a world that is speechless. And in this ringing silence, his frozen stasis becomes an illustration of time itself: everything we desperately attempt to hold eventually becomes the exact reason to say goodbye to it, leaving only memories of what can never be brought back.
