Enter The Mind of Impact.

Enter the mind of Impact, London based 3D Generalist and Art Director responsible for a host of creative projects found across the internet. Infamously described as an artist first and a designer second, he revels in creating universes capturing surreal 3D imagery, often accompanied by a strong storyline and concepts open to interpretation. Notably focusing on predominantly static imagery for his creative endeavors, he finds something compelling about the challenge of telling a story with just one frame.

Guiding Light,2021, NFT

Guiding light is classed, in his opinion, as his first official art piece, despite other projects that preceded it. Having been featured in the 3D Artist magazine, multiple times by Adobe and awarded on creative network Behance, Guiding Light is one of the most recognized pieces in Impact’s catalogue. The initial inspiration behind this piece stemmed from the idea of the Tardis (from the popular British TV show Doctor Who) and it’s ability to travel through time. The idea of a seemingly everyday object like a telephone box being able to teleport was applied to the lighthouse in Guiding Light. This ability was adapted to the lighthouse in a more visually dramatic way, resulting in the disintegration effect seen in the final image.

Without any context, Guiding Light as a whole is shrouded in a cloud of mystery, the overcast sky makes it impossible to determine where the lighthouse is. How does the lighthouse have the ability to teleport? Why is it summoned to various locations? And who is manning it are all questions left unanswered.

Semi-Detatched, 2020, NFT

Semi-Detached is widely regarded as Impact’s magnum opus from 2020 and with how widely it was shared it’s deserving of that title. This is a piece semi-detached from reality and one that depicts a desire to rise up and break free, a common theme in a lot of the ‘Enter the Mind’ pieces around this time frame. Despite still having his signature ‘floating object’ characteristic, the house in the image is still somewhat bound to the ground and the slight artistic style change with the pop of extra colour and stylistic clouds give this piece a unique and interesting look when placed next to the other pieces in this collection.

Neverland, 2021, NFT

Another piece from the ‘Enter the Mind’ series following a similar theme of traditionally grounded objects taking flight is Neverland. Its name is a play on words with the Netherlands (inspired by a trip there) and the phrase to ‘never land’ which encourages the viewer to embrace a blissful euphoric state above ground and never let go of that feeling.

The foreground depicts a bleak scene with a broken barbed-wire fence, the cause of which is left up to the imagination of the viewer. One compelling interpretation is that from beloved collector and owner of Neverland, Bharat Krymo, in which he believes that ‘’the future is based increasingly on alternative energy so the windmill generated power and broke away from the fence with the grounding.’’

Krymo describes it as a: ‘’piece about independence, freedom and self sufficiency.’’

Pauline at the Mall
Edition 1 of 1
Today Pauline is having a good time at the Mall, enjoying the luck that she has to be lazy and dwell in consumerism. Animated Collage, 1904×2092 pixels, .Mp4, 60fps, 27,3 Mo.

How did you find out about CryptoArt earlier than most people? How was the market and community like back then? Why did you dive into the CryptoArt world before it was recognized by the mainstream?

When I learned about crypto currencies in 2017, I became obsessed by this technological revolution and all its philosophical and financial promises. As an artist entering Crypto Twitter for more info, I found a smart and joyful community that was hungry for my visuals. I started making memes, propaganda posters, twitter headers artworks, working for big names and projects. Price of Bitcoin was falling for months, people were available and it was the perfect time to build relations and friendships, Twitter direct messages were open.

Saint Nakamoto

How does CryptoArt influence your practices as an artist?

I think the motivation that came with connecting directly with collectors and other artists was the most important change. It made it easier for me to explore my own desire and see precisely what I wanted to share. Add to this the financial freedom, meaning better tools, all the time needed and a peace of mind I never knew before.

Artistic Irreverence
Edition 1 of 1
Today ARTificial intelligence is giving creators the opportunity to have more visions. It opens doors that weren’t there before, distorting perceptions of sight, suggesting dream like visuals by thousands. But we still have to figure where this is taking us. What will hatch out of this? The digital muse art needed for another revolution or a data monster that will binge eat our creativity in hope to get a soul? Animated Collage, GIF, 45MO, 1100x1100px Original painting : Jamesone George Self-portrait 1642

What do you hope people to experience when they view your works?

I want them to enjoy a little trip out of this world, surprise and laugh would be the reactions I expect the most. I highly value art making me laugh, I need this humoristic prism to watch life through and hope I can share the view.

Marguerite Thérèsélastos
Edition 1 of 1
Sky was amazing and shrimps were flying low, nobody wanted to fix the broken roof. Marguerite as always, was stretching her legs to the rythm of the beat. Animated Collage, GIF, 41.6Mo, 835x956pixels

On a philosophical level, what does CryptoArt mean to you?

I love to think this movement is about the revolution that are crypto currencies in the History of mankind, above all things, that’s what connected us all.

Speed of Thought

“Fast can be good. Except when moving so fast and getting so far ahead of ourselves we no longer can recognize our mode of transportation or the wall we’ve hit prior to creating it.” Animated Collage, GIF, 14.8Mo, 800x642pixels

How do you envision the future of CryptoArt?

Future is bright for NFTs in general as everything will be a NFT, from birth certificates to cemetery plot ownership. I hope that everything that makes CryptoArt great stays, things like the welcoming community, the perpetual royalties on secondary sales, the trustless and permissionless market, all the things traditional arts never had.

How did you find out about CryptoArt earlier than most people?

I got lucky.  Late 2017, I bought some bitcoin and fell down the crypto rabbit hole.  Soon after that I discovered Ascribe.io which was using Bitcoin to create digital editions.  I started selling these for a couple of bucks through twitter and geeking out with other nerds.  In early 2018 I ended up beta testing what became SuperRare.

CLEARLY

What was the market and community like back then?

We all thought what was happening was groundbreaking but no one else seemed to care.  I was trying to convince artists to join but everyone thought it was a scam.  There was barely anyone to sell to.  A small group of collectors and artists kept the platform going for a long time.  We were just happy to see bids on each others work and it felt like we celebrated every sale.

XCOPY, 2018

Why did you dive into the CryptoArt world before it was recognized by the mainstream?

Because it was the first and only way to sell my digital artwork in its true form.  Minting tokens was a way to sign my art and make it collectable.

How does CryptoArt influence your practices as an artist?

As a new medium, the possibilities feel endless.  I find it impossible not to be sucked into the culture.  I’ve learned so much from pixel anons on twitter; it’s an entertaining and inspiring space.

CAUTION: May cause anxiety, overwhelm and in most cases death.

How do you envision the future of CryptoArt?

I imagine we’ll see works that evolve and interact with each other, that decay over time or react to IRL events.  It’s already happening.  NFTs can be so much more than a signed image.  As platforms evolve to give artists access to new tools we’ll find more ways to have fun with them.

NOXX: Surrealism meets hybridization

NOXX: Surrealism meets hybridization

SuperRare

For NOXX, surrealism, hybridization, and transfiguration executed with 3D surgical precision is his playground, where reality is twisted and manipulated into reflections of his inner world. An intense focus emanates from his works, anchored in an other-worldly retro-futuristic dimension. Based in Berlin, after moving on from his job in graphic design 3 years ago, he started his own company, and then became a freelancer in 2020. His first piece minted on SR, Punk is a reflection of the artist’s emotional landscape, weathering the circumstances and obstacles of 2020. Discussing Punk he states:

“Punk has these mixed feelings in it. The color palette is vibrant, refreshing, and full of life and energy. His minimalist facial features do not portray emotion. Only the teeth seem to make him smile, a little, but only below the surface. There is freedom but no time to relax. One step at a time. Back to work.”

Stemming from the classic artist’s struggle of finding and cultivating a state of creative flow, NOXX’s most recent work encapsulates the pulse of this illusive, yet attainable state. Flow is at once futuristic, with retro accents, chiseled and angular, yet offset by the fluidity of animation and rhythmic movement. There is tension and release as the crank lever turns. Commenting on how Flow was conceived and how this piece is an extension of himself as an artist, he says:

“I am fascinated by flow. And it seems like it has to find you working. The problem is that it fades away just as easily as it comes. So all I can do is create the environment and the habits that work for me to allow flow to kick in as often as possible. Flow is nothing new. We are all creative beings. It’s who we are as a species. We always strive and we have to keep this machine running. If you do not use it, you will never be able to experience flow.”

Regardless of the thematic diversity in his collected works, from grotesque lollipops encasing tentacles and wasps, to anatomically divergent beings, an underlying consistency defines his bold style of introspective execution and meticulous detailing. One of the stylistic elements of NOXX’s art is surreal anatomical figurative sculpting, generating inter-crossed and hybridized entities. There is a distinct fascination with mechanizing human muscular structures such as replacing the neck muscles with pistons in Punk. Anatomy is one of the core fundamentals for sculpting. I avoided it for quite some time because it intimidated me. Every time I work on a piece that requires a lot of anatomy I am in awe. It is dauntingly beautiful and I am mesmerized by its precision.”

Complementing the structured clarity characteristic of his style, is a subtle playfulness, adding nuanced complexity to his works. Punk has a slight toothy smile and in Flow, the rhythmic movement is smooth and relaxed, perfectly choreographed to the audio generated by sound designer, Subrift.

An understated elegance permeates his body of work infusing vibrancy without
over-saturation and sculptural detailing without excess.

His craft is perfected under a focused and immutable work ethic. Discussing how he achieves his intended outcome for a project, NOXX solves “as many problems as possible in the early stages. The cleanup usually takes the longest time and it would be a disaster investing all this time into something that does not work, so I test simple sculpting and models, composition, colors, materials, lighting and sometimes even animations with as little effort as possible and when it works I can commit to it.”

For NOXX, 3D is “the ultimate freedom.” This freedom imbues his aesthetic as he molds and sculpts each element with discernment and a hint of playfulness, balancing the composition. He creates what engages, stimulates, and seduces his creative mind. A project is not complete until he has challenged himself, testing the limits of his knowledge and skill by stepping out of his comfort zone to “learn something new.” This newness and innovation translates flawlessly into his works. NOXX’s art stands on its own, commanding the attention of the observer, with a uniquely distinctive style, defined by engineered and elegant execution.

RESURRECTION by Ebi – Exclusive NFT only on Super Rare

SuperRare

‘Resurrection’ is the first ever NFT art piece offered by Persian music legend, and one of the most beloved middle eastern superstars in the World.

Ebrahim Hamedi, known to his tens of millions of fans as Ebi, has been a touring artist for over 50 years. Hailing from Iran, Ebi is not only regarded as the leading man of pop music in the country’s history, but also seen as a cultural father figure by millions of young Iranians.

Living in self-exile since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Ebi, an activist at heart, has not feared voicing his opinion about the current administration’s persecution of freedom of speech and human rights violations.

Inspired by his love of all things freedom and human rights, Ebi’s first foyer into the avant-garde and exciting world of digital arts, otherwise known as NFT’s is a piece very personal to him.

Resurrection depicts the tomb of Cyrus The Great, founder of the Persian Empire, and the first world leader to implement Human Rights, 2600 years ago.

In these distant times, when the world had become stale, kings had reigned as gods, mankind was enslaved, and freedom existed only as an idea.

Cyrus The Great changed all of that, and with it, the course of history. By conquering suppressive kingdom after kingdom, he allowed all citizens of the newly formed empire to speak the tongue of their ancestors and worship the gods of their choice. He freed all slaves in the empire, including the Hebrews who had been taken as captives and enslaved in Babylon for generations, and returned to them their conquered homeland.

Today, the Cyrus Cylinder, the first charter of human rights, sits at the British Museum, with a replica housed at the United Nations in New York, as a reminder of just rule to world leaders.

‘Resurrection’, shows the Tomb of Cyrus coming to life, triggered by the beautifully haunting voice of Ebi. This is a resurrection of the spirit of freedom, justice and humanity, which Ebi longs to see for his homeland.

✨✨✨ NFT Auction winner will receive: – ‘1/1’ NFT digital art piece: Resurrection by Ebi – A signed handwritten letter addressed to the auction winner by Ebi. – 2 VIP tickets to any of EBIs concerts around the World, chosen by the winner, including a meet & greet with Ebi backstage.
