Salt and Dust

Salt and dust, breathing atop a rock that doesn’t know your name. Heart filled with fuel and lungs filled with fire— What will you say before your breath runs out? Living like raindrops: born from chaos, racing towards a certain end. A ripple in a sea of strangers who blink and forget we lived at all. If the fall is all we have... how will you have it sound? There is purpose to be found here— Moments of peace, freedom and power. Moments that make us who we are. We are fragile, like lights dancing across the sky, thinking the sun will never come. Yet, in spite of our frailty and the heavy wheel of time… Once, we are young, And we are brave. There is beauty in believing we can make a difference, no matter how the hourglass runs dry. Our hearts light fires in the lighthouses, shining through storms for those who come after us. Do not mistake this moment for forever. What kind of light will you leave?
