The Long Way Home

While driving around the Adirondacks one day in early October, I had a chance encounter... not with a person, or animal, but with a road. This surreal stretch of 2 lane that wound perfectly through the landscape was one of the most picturesque stretches of pavement I had ever seen. You never know what you'll find on the back roads, and this photo is the perfect reminder that traveling off the beaten path can sometimes be just what you needed.
