Our oceans are the embodiment of energy on this planet. They bring so much life, and death, around the world, and are such a special part of the earth. One of my favorite aspects of the ocean is it's raw power... waves crashing, currents flowing, and the storms that build in the middle of nowhere before moving ashore. During winter in the pacific northwest, the ocean is almost chaotic, and one particularly high tide, I was able to capture the best representation of this power that I've seen. 2 huge waves crashing into each other, creating this incredible double wave shape. The tiny bird on the cliff face gives the perfect sense of scale here, and cements this photo as a great representation of the energy of our oceans.
