Paris, France
Entourage Effect is a French artist collective around Claire du Neuf, founded in 2020. In the midst of the chaos, space and silence emerged, giving birth to the idea for an artists’ collective that aims to bring humanity back into the digital world. In utter contradistinction, their works encourage self-reflection, a return to the self, and a confrontation with one’s own imperfection.

Isaac “Drift” Wright is a United States Army special operations veteran who learned to cope with PTSD and depression through urban exploring and documenting cities from unseen perspectives through photography. At the end of 2020 he was arrested for his work, being subjected to four months of incarceration without bond as the government used both his race as a black man and his special military background against him. The story arrived on the front page of The New York Times on June 6th, 2021.

“One Last Time”
Edition 1 of 1
It was my time to leave Houston, the city that brought me to both exploring and photography, but there was one last thing to accomplish. We had scouted this location for two years trying to learn the insides and outs of the building. After a seven hour endeavor, we finally reached the roof. After staying overnight, we were greeted with dream conditions in the morning, low fog had settled in over the city. We shot for a few hours and then made our way down forever richer inside. The artwork created from this day speaks to patience and perseverance and what can become when we truly never give up.

“Quilla – Serenity”
Edition 1 of 1
The water keeps flowing as her body is embraced. Floating carelessly as all noises fade to silence. Her heavy heart relieved by the weightlessness. The faint splashes on her skin. Close your eyes and look up to the havens. All worries forgotten as she’s suspended in a peaceful moment. Everything becomes serene. This work was inspired by how we feel crowded, exhausted, and overwhelmed at times. As if all we need is a moment of peace and tranquillity. We forget to take breaks and make time for ourself.

Denver, Colorado
I have always found comfort in creating. I believe there is a significant importance in self expression through means we cannot express verbally. I am so thankful to have found my outlet through visual art.
Pen on paper doodles have evolved to canvas paintings, custom clothing, hand crafted hats, screen printing, enamel pins, event posters and now digital animations.

“Memoirs of the Past: Eden, Before the Lost Age”
Edition 1 of 1
Arrival /3. “Eden. Supposed to be the city of ‘salvation’. Maybe it really was, at least before the industrialization. It was beautiful in Eden before the lost age, there was life in the city. It was crowded indeed but people were feeling alive. I was only a little girl back then, but I remember vividly how lively I was. Then the famine began. Didn’t believe it at first when I heard they were consuming humans and use them as resources in the nearby territories. Still petrifying. Within time, more and more people came here, hoping to find themselves a place to live, just like you. I met this girl named Arya, she was the only child of a refugee family who escaped here, lost her father during the First Invasion. She was like a sister to me, we used to spent all day together getting lost in the city. As we ran out of space and resources here, the ones who are in charge built these… holes. So deep, you can’t even see what’s beneath. They placed the refugees there, it is forbidden for us to visit. I’ve never seen Arya ever since…”

València
✷ Visual artist designed to create geometric art. I express myself through fantasy art with an emphasis on composition, searching forms and characters that live in the depths of my imagination.
Inspired by many avant-gardes such as neoplasticism, cubism or surrealism.
I look for a nexus between vectorial forms trying to give them a distinctive touch through patterns, textures and other elements plus a future with new ways to explore.

“Into a Dream”
Edition 1 of 1
Into a Dream is the result of a dreamlike exploration that has made me go further in my work. It is a personal work in which I discover new paths in my art, leaving symmetry aside and betting on composition as the main point. It is an illustration in which I have let myself go, allowing me to do what I really wanted and discovering that I can illustrate what I think and dream about. I have brought out my inner world and tried to capture it on canvas. Since I was accepted in SuperRare I knew that my genesis had to be special, because it is a special platform where I can start the real starting point of my career as a digital artist on a platform where I can grow exponentially. This work has been developed with a lot of dedication and planning, with great emphasis on color and composition to make it perfect. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

China
Born Second Life in 2006
Founder of RMB City in Second Life (2007-2012)

Einstein on the Beach-Chasing the Moon/沙滩上的爱因斯坦-追月

Edition 1 of 1

By China Tracy 2021 1’32” Video Music: Ma Haiping “Time doesn’t pass in the same way for everyone”. It’s been a few years since I last entered the world of Second Life. While I’ve grown a fair amount of grey hair, and wrinkles and spots have crept up on my face, she’s still youthful and beautiful as in 2006 when I first created her. Perhaps there has never been a real “deceleration of time” nor a “length contraction (or time dilation)”. China Tracy, once a romantic Cyber woman with a scepter in her hand, now resumes her role as a wanderer nearly a decade after the loss of her virtual kingdom – the RMB City. On the edge of an unknown land, she decides to fly to a moon that never falls, only to be stranded by an invisible wall on the border between the land and the sea. No matter how hard she struggles to break through the panoramic ceiling of this Truman’s world, she hovers, stalls and spins in a loop until she dies as the computer crashes. she can still be reborn the next time she enters the world, but it never changes the fact that she can never reach the moon. The relationship between China Tracy and me is ambivalent in which our identities and the real and the virtual are ambiguous. We can feel that our respective earths are moving. But the notions of past, present and future, here, elsewhere, nowhere, etc. all seem to end.

Colorado
Ben Strauss is a native Coloradan, where the Mountains are his playground. His work is different than the average nature photographer, in the sense that he is driven to create a sort of dreamscape-art out of his images. “It is very challenging to convey the emotional and physical sensations of a 3-dimensional experience in a 2-dimensional format. Because of this, I developed a unique style of photo-processing that feels almost cinematic and hyperrealistic, making up for that lost 3rd dimension.”

Nature’s Paintbrush

Edition 1 of 1

For a few weeks out of the year, certain areas in the Colorado Rockies undergo a stunning transformation as an explosion of wildflowers spread across the mountainous terrain. I have spent the last few years capturing these blooming events during the most beautiful times of day, and it is safe to say it has become an obsession. How can something so beautiful and seemingly delicate grow in the most rugged locations? Wildflowers are tougher than they may appear on the surface, and to me symbolize the essence of resiliency; able to weather some of Colorado’s harshest elements, only to return again year after year. Nature’s Paintbrush is the first piece of the “Bloom” series, a collection of my finest and most epic wildflower landscapes. The photographs in this collection were all captured within the same week during the healthiest bloom Colorado had seen in a while. This first piece depicts one of my favorite species of native wildflower, the Indian Paintbrush, named as such due to the peddles appearing like the tip of a brush dipped in red paint. This wildflower is harder to come by than some other species, like the more common purple Lupines also seen in this piece, and are especially difficult to find in such a healthy and vibrant condition. I remember setting out for another evening of chasing sunsets with the goal of tracking down the more illusive Indian Paintbrush. After a while of exploration with no luck and the last of the day’s sunlight quickly coming to an end, I began to feel the familiar feeling of defeat common with landscape photography. As I often do when hiking an unknown trail, I kept telling myself “let’s just see what’s around this one last corner.” This was a rare case where my stubbornness paid off. As I turned this final corner my heart began to race, as in front of me stood a hillside covered in Lupines and vibrantly red Indian Paintbrush, all overlooking a lake and a mountain cabin. Perfect composition, check. I rushed to set up my tripod and frame the scene, my heart pounding as I knew the sunset was nearing an end. With my camera all set up, I waited in anticipation. I knew in the back of my mind that sometimes the best of light happens immediately after the sun has set behind the mountains. This was about to be one of those times. An orange glow began spreading across the underside of the clouds, growing stronger by the second. Then all of a sudden, rays of sunlight materialized from behind the mountain, beaming across the sky. I probably took about one hundred images as the light continued to evolve over the next sixty seconds. I couldn’t believe what I was capturing. Sometimes Mother Nature is on your side.

New York CityClaudia Hart is part of a generation of 90s intermedia artists examining issues of identity and representation. Since the late 90s when she began working with 3D animation, Hart embraced these same concepts, but now focusing on the impact of computing and simulations technologies. The Green Window

Edition 1 of 1

QmcHVJDoxeFLxehzXS8iHQ6sqLhYxfBRHMezw5F6jgpc3s (IPFS hash) ‘The Green Window’ is the last in a series called The Red Paintings, a set of four monumental 3D animations for projection. Expanding on early twentieth-century still-life painting from the School of Paris, I was inspired by the significant collection of the Art Institute of Chicago and my work there with School of the Art Institute of Chicago media art students, in dialog with both the canonical Art Institute still-lives and its Chair of 19th and 20th Century Painting and Sculpture, the art historian Gloria Groom. In the context of our post-digital moment, I used the compositional structures of the red paintings by Henri Matisse to propose a paradigm shift in painting practice, creating monumental animations at real-painting scale. Reminiscent but very different from Matisse’s static images, I animated images-within-images, as architectures open onto windows and doors that in turn open onto simulated landscapes and rooms bestowed with animated paintings, carpets and wallpapers. My animations in this series are like digital, pictorial clockworks in which wheels within wheels turn at different rates and temporal schemes to mesmerize viewers, ushering them into a state of contemplation. I think of ‘The Green Window’ as an antidote to a world in crisis as it transits into a reality of malleable and inherently unstable computer simulations and social foment. In ‘The Green Window’, time is fluid and elastic, in constant flux and multi-directional, where all is in motion and mutable though nothing is actually happening. This is a different notion of time, an unstable present, in which viewers may experience through the possibility of simulation-technologies that use scientific data to model natural forces, the crystallization of past, future and present into a perpetual now.

London
Henrik Uldalen (b.1986), is a natively figurative painter from Norway, working out of London. The core of his work revolves around the perimeters of existentialism and melancholy. With a soft neo-classicist touch juxtaposed with bursts of destruction and violence he often speaks about his perception of human nature and its cognitive dissonance.

Kindle

Edition 1 of 1

“Kindle” is made to ignite an emotional response from the viewer around societal and personal change. An icon symbolising greco-roman ideals is set ablaze to reject society’s affinity for the archaic. On a personal level the destruction of the old and safe is a way for Henrik to jolt himself out his comfort and find freedom in life and and freedom in expression. Jean-Paul Sartre speaks of “bad faith”, and our reluctance to confront ourselves with authenticity. With this he seeks to negate the roles he has adapted as an artist and painter in society and transcend.

Mr. Bungle was formed in 1985 in an impoverished lumber and fishing town by a trio of volatile teenagers. Trey Spruance, Mike Patton & Trevor Dunn, and then in 1988, Danny Heifetz and Bär McKinnon joined. They released 3 albums – Mr. Bungle (1991), Disco Volante (1995) & California (1999) – toured the world and avoided critical acclaim. After 20 years off, in 2020, a different iteration of Mr. Bungle emerged, pairing the original trio of Dunn, Patton & Spruance with Scott Ian & Dave Lombardo

Disco Volante Era Improv At The Bomb Factory Pt 4

Edition 1 of 1

Pt 4 is 2:30 of music with 45 seconds of looping animation. Edition of 1. Auction begins Mon Aug 2nd at Noon EST. Music by Mr. Bungle. Animation and art by Eric Livingston (https://www.instagram.com/firstchurchofthevoid/). Each auction winner will get 1 of 4 lathe cut vinyl featuring the entire 10 minute song, plus a hi-res MP4 of the entire 10 minute video as well. Lathe Cut Vinyl by intheclouds (https://intheclouds.io). “Mr Bungle Disco Volante Era Apocrypha (official & unheard)” – During the Disco Volante writing sessions in a place we called The Shotwell Bomb Factory, San Francisco, we were blessed with an isolated & independent place to record and rehearse. Endless days & nights were spent in there experimenting, improvising and piecing together what would be our “sophomore attempt” among other gems. Often there was an ADAT machine ready to go for any spontaneous outbursts (think “Nothing” from the end of DV), but we tested out various setups at our disposal. “The Legendary Paper Project” was one such outburst split between two rooms. Trey, often engineering these chaotic recordings, recalls: “I remember wanting to enhance audio separation & isolation to an extreme, using a kind of ‘musique concrète live mix’ approach, hoping that would capture the unruly individual spirits of our improvisation more faithfully. It totally did in this case; facilitated better communication than usual.” If memory serves correctly, Patton & Heifetz were in the “sound room” with a multitude of instruments within reach. Dunn & Spruance were in the “control room” with keyboards and outboard gear, as well as total “knob control”. What we ofter here is one of several “movements” from a spontaneous sound narrative that spans over an hour. Up until now, no one but the four of us have heard this recently unarchived weirdness. —Trevor Dunn on behalf of Mr. Bungle

Monade IV

Edition 1 of 1

Monade IV is part of a series made with 3D scans of the artist’s body, which became the raw material to be digitally sculpted, deconstructed and re-contextualized. Many inspirations have informed this project, such as the concept of the cyborg by Donna J. Haraway, Hans Bellmer’s drawings, Greek Mythology as well as an underlying reflexion on self portrait and the place of the body in the digital world. Captive within the limitations of their own subjectivities, these cyborg/goddesses embody the concept of monade, where each individual is a fragmented mirror of a larger reality. Artwork information: 1920x1600pixels, 30 fps., 2020 1:08 loop JPG available.

Claire

Edition 1 of 1

Visionary meta-music producer, Anyma, one half of world-famous music production duo, Tale of Us, has collaborated with Berlin-based digital artist Giusy Amoroso aka Marigoldff and IOR50 Studio, to deliver the world’s first full-size full-definition NFT music video. Anyma, a hybrid persona with a multi-disciplinary approach, simultaneously coexists in the digital and physical realms. The amalgamation is a composition of parts; digital artist, electronic music creator, and augmented reality performer. Anyma is the catalyst behind the next evolutionary phase of Afterlife’s progressive sound. Each release will be unveiled as a complete body of work containing music and digital NFTs, transporting melodic techno into diverse and innovative territory. Giusy Amoroso aka Marigoldff is a Berlin-based director, digital artist and the co-founder of IOR50 Studio. Her NFT work is already highly collectible. Originally from Italy, Marigoldff has developed a distinct visual style, frequently embellished with a metallic edge. Sharing narratives of the many possible multiverses existing parallel to our world, she explores the convergence of science, technology and nature. The majority of her creations feature inspirations from our world’s biodiversity. As humanity continues to explore the possibilities surrounding digital creation, the metaverse has expanded beyond existing parameters. A consolidation of organic material and algorithmic data is the basis for a new utopian reality. In this integrated digital space, Anyma & Marigoldff merge their creative talents to build and grow a self-generated consciousness, pushing the boundaries between nature and technology, and projecting their art into unexplored spaces. Innovative and unprecedented, Anyma & Marigoldff, will be the first to utilize Kanon’s KSPEC Protocol to mint and release a full quality music video on blockchain. The first NFT without size limitations from any music artist. KSPEC will soon become the standard for all NFTs, allowing for unlimited file sizes directly on chain. This is a watershed moment as the worlds of digital art, crypto and music intersect. With few exceptions, the NFT format has been limited to a fixed file size ranging from 30MB to a maximum 500MB, confining the length, fidelity and creative scope of the work being sold. Meanwhile, music industry videos have been costly endeavors for artists with sales of their music the only option to recoup expenses. We are witnessing the emergence of a new opportunity for artists to engage with NFTs as a vehicle to deliver art and access directly to collectors. A new renaissance without gatekeepers and industry intermediaries is unfolding. The collector of this NFT will possess the full length original video on SuperRare in perpetuity, and an additional two 15-second animations that extrapolate on characters present in the music video. The collector’s wallet address will be credited each time the video is used for online promotional purposes and/or live events. In addition, the owner’s “will name” will be added on chain through KSPEC.

Underwater

Edition 1 of 1

“There was a time where life was underwater. I remember houses built and schools running with fishes and rays swirling around. There was no need to go to the surface because you could also see the blue sky and the storms that sometimes screamed for solitude. It was not a split thing where people were on the surface and people under. It was just like that, we were submerged and enchanted. At night you could walk around neon midnite bars and enjoy a city filled with gatcha games and vending machines while Air sounded in the background. I didn’t want to tell you sooner. I think this will destroy you.”

Solstice Aphrodite

Edition 1 of 1

An Aphrodite holds a warrior soul. She is the embodiment of love and freedom. ‘Solstice Aphrodite’ glows with the light of eros, illuminated by the waters that surround where she stakes her ground, arms raised above her head, bathed in the reflective gaze of her solitude. This piece is presented in the SuperRare exhibition “A lot of what I’m about to tell you is made up”. It is the first in a series of Aphrodites to be released on SuperRare. Dissolving ancient and modern time, the Aphrodites are reflective of my feeling that technology carries its own obsolescence, is perhaps already a ruin. Painted over the Summer Solstice 2021, on Pocket Procreate on iPhone 11 Pro, combined with hand-drawn elements.

Ethnic Minority

Edition 1 of 1

“Taken from my Nature Mysticism series of paintings, the two poles of visual representation – both figuration and abstraction are on display here on a single-channel, split-screen video diptych. On one side is the out-of-body psychedelic colored, trippy geometric abstractions. And on the opposite side are color-saturated Edenic, joyous shining Oleander flowers. Through a subtle yet trancey animation, they overcome their binary opposition to meld into a mesmerizing whole.” Mustafa Hulusi’s practice orbits around mining his hybrid identity – he was born in London to Turkish-Cypriot parents – to create evocative paintings, installations, films, and photographs. The artist represented Cyprus at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007 and has exhibited widely across Europe as well as in Asia. The Mystery v5-dv2 (chroma)

Edition 1 of 1

Auriea Harvey’s The Mystery v5-dv2 (chroma) is a digital sculpture that serves as a talisman and a memento mori, a reminder of both beauty and death. Discrete images within the work invite symbolic interpretation, for example, a skull (bone) or a rose (beauty). The sculpture rotates across an intense chromatic landscape in a timeless manner, as if it is waiting to be activated. Harvey’s practice involves elements of self-portraiture, inserting the face of an African-American woman into art historical narratives. This process creates new allegories of figuration, addressing sculpture in both a digital and social connotation. Collector receives the interactive artwork on IPFS with 3D model, HD video, high-resolution stills and AR. RGNRTN- Regeneration.

Edition 1 of 1

As the title connotes, I captured the image within the concept of ‘regrowth’ and ‘repair’ which is the basis for Regeneration. I’m reimagining the African story from the perspective of taking a cell, which makes up several units and as a whole are restored to establish normal function. The type used are “AFROFUTURE” and “AFTR”; an ode to Afrofuture, starting from the basic symbols and fully coming to being. I incorporated the very common colours on African flags Green, Red and Yellow as well. We are riding on the hope and foundation of the past to pave way to a better future.

Voices of Apollo 11

Edition 1 of 1

This is the first NFT minted by Milky Way mosaic creator, astrophotographer, and artist JiiPee Metsävainio. It is a tribute to the recently departed astronaut Michael Collins and the Apollo 11 crew. The Moon’s image is made entirely from the transcript of the communications between the Apollo 11 flight crew and Mission Control. Upon purchase, the full resolution 33Kx33K pixels file will be sent to the new owner. The auction winner will also receive a special one-of signed and numbered 3×3 ft. museum quality print of this artwork with the winner’s name written in JiiPee’s own hand. The print is directly and permanently bonded to a sheet of acrylic. It is mounted to high exhibition standards and without borders to remove the need for a traditional picture frame. The aluminum subframe on the back enables hanging. Acrylic prints will not bend or warp. Colors will not fade over time. A few days before his passing Michael posted the following praising words with a link to JiiPee’s masterpiece of the Milky Way mosaic on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AstroMCollins/status/1384194949009211393?s=20 “One of J-P’s most prolific pieces, Voices of Apollo 11, is a tribute to Michael Collins and the Apollo 11 crew who completed the first Moon landing in 1969. ‘Voices of Apollo 11’ will be auctioned on the SuperRare NFT marketplace to celebrate the 52-year anniversary of the historic landing on the Moon.” — Forbes, Jul 7, 2021. Because Michael Collins was the director of educational STEM projects for the Air & Space Museum a large part of the funds from the sale of this NFT will be donated to help fund the Virtual Moon (https://VirtualMoon.space) project creating spaceflight-focused multi-user virtual reality experiences for STEM-enthused kids. This will provide educational institutions worldwide multi-user access to —among other Moon-related VR experiences— the virtual ‘Tranquility Base’ Apollo 11 landing site. The new owner of ‘Voices of Apollo 11’ will be invited to virtually inaugurate, together with JiiPee, the multi-user version of the Apollo 11 landing site VR experience of the Virtual Moon project. CLAIRE: A full-definition NFT music video by Anyma and Marigoldff

SuperRare

Visionary meta-music producer, Anyma, one half of world-famous music production duo, Tale of Us, has collaborated with Berlin-based digital artist Giusy Amoroso aka Marigoldff and IOR50 Studio, to deliver what most likely is the world’s first full-size full-definition NFT music video.

The NFT video

As humanity continues to explore the possibilities surrounding digital creation, the metaverse has expanded beyond existing parameters. A consolidation of organic material and algorithmic data is the basis for a new utopian reality.

In this integrated digital space, Anyma & Marigoldff merge their creative talents to build and grow a self-generated consciousness, pushing the boundaries between nature and technology, and projecting their art into unexplored spaces.

A new way forward

The collector of this NFT will possess the full length original video on SuperRare in perpetuity, receive a 1:1 Infinite Objects and an additional two 15-second animations that extrapolate on characters present in the music video. These additional animations will be wrapped in with the original 1:1 on chain through KSPEC. The collector’s wallet address will be credited each time the video is used for online promotional purposes and/or live events. In addition, the owner’s “will name” will be added on chain through KSPEC.

The music

Anyma, a hybrid persona with a multi-disciplinary approach, simultaneously coexists in the digital and physical realms. The amalgamation is a composition of parts; digital artist, electronic music creator, and augmented reality performer. Anyma is the catalyst behind the next evolutionary phase of Afterlife’s progressive sound. Each release will be unveiled as a complete body of work containing music and digital NFTs, transporting melodic techno into diverse and innovative territory

The art

Giusy Amoroso aka Marigoldff is a Berlin-based director, digital artist and the co-founder of IOR50 Studio. Her NFT work is already highly collectible. Originally from Italy, Marigoldff has developed a distinct visual style, frequently embellished with a metallic edge. Sharing narratives of the many possible multiverses existing parallel to our world, she explores the convergence of science, technology and nature. The majority of her creations feature inspirations from our world’s biodiversity.

Music written and produced by Anyma, Janus Rasmussen and Delhia De France. Released on Rufus Du Sol’s Rose Avenue Records.

Video directed by Anyma & Marigoldff, produced by ior50 Studio, Berlin

Milky Way Mosaic Creator Auctions Apollo 11 Tribute As His First NFT

Finnish artist and astrophotographer JiiPee (full name: Jukka-Pekka Metsavainio), who captivated the world with his 12-year effort to capture a view of the Milky Way encompassing over 200 million stars, will be releasing his tribute to astronaut Michael Collins and the Apollo 11 mission as a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) through the SuperRare NFT platform.

“Voices of Apollo 11” will be auctioned to celebrate the 52-year anniversary of the historic trip to the Moon and starts on July 20, 2021 which was the anniversary of to the landing of the spacecraft on the Moon.

“Metsavainio has created the ‘Voices of Apollo 11’ artistic masterpiece to immortalize the mission and its target forever.” Ethan Siegel, @Forbes, Cosmology Science writer, astrophysicist, science communicator & NASA columnist.

Image shows the full Moon made entirely out of the text of the transcript of the onboard voice
conversations of the Apollo 11 mission.

A close up of the top of the artwork shows just letters from the authentic voice transcription of Apollo 11
Command Module recorder data.

JiiPee explains how he created the artwork, “I downloaded NASA’s original full transcript of Apollo 11’s onboard voice conversations. The idea was to turn this text into an image of the Moon. After a few weeks of intense work at a feverish pace my tribute was ready. Now the Moon is made up entirely of Apollo 11 voice transcription letters. This is also a tribute to the entire Apollo 11 team: Commander Neil A. Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin E. Aldrin Jr.”

After JiiPee unveiled his Milky Way mosaic, worldwide coverage included Michael Collins, who tweeted about it, praising it as a “beautiful mosaic of the Milky Way”. Collins’ admiration so humbled and impressed JiiPee that he decided to create his “Voices of Apollo 11” artwork as a tribute to Collins.

“I was most gratified and deeply moved when Michael Collins —the Apollo 11 & Gemini 10 astronaut, author, explorer and artist— tweeted such kind words about my work on April 19th, 2021. The news of his passing, just nine days later, hit me all the harder — a very emotional moment for me. Out of the blue, I got inspired to create this artwork. I absolutely had to do it right away, which I did,” said JiiPee.

JiiPee use of the transcribed audio from the Apollo 11 mission creates an image of the Moon that displays a spectacular tapestry of human interaction, an historical event and the beauty of the universe. JiiPee created his artwork as a tribute to Collins and feels that auctioning his 1/1 NFT would best honor Collins and his work by donating portions of the proceeds to efforts that represent Collins’ enthusiasm to help mankind understand science and outer space.

The Apollo 11 landing site is marked by two red letters.

Michael Collins was affectionately referred to as “the loneliest man in history” for being the command module pilot who flew solo in space behind the Moon and without radio contact with anyone while his colleagues, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, set foot on the Moon for the first time in history. Michael was also an artist. His iconic photos made from Moon orbit are true art and part of mankind’s greatest cultural heritage treasure,” said J-P.

A similar solitude gripped me while I was creating this tribute image. For being an astronomical photographer and a visual artist often is a very lonely job. Especially this time as I was deeply emotional throughout my creative process for this artwork. Even though I never met him personally, the end of his Earthly mission meant more to me than I was prepared for. I needed to make this photo-based artwork to process the inner storm of my thoughts and feelings.”

Because he was a director of educational STEM projects for the Air & Space Museum, I decided that I would donate a large part of the funds from the sale of the NFT to help fund the Virtual Moon project creating multi-user virtual experiences for kids and providing access to the Apollo 11 landing site for educational institutions worldwide,” said JiiPee.

J-P will also donate some of the proceeds from the NFT sale to Janet’s Planet, a non-profit organization that teaches young people about Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics (STEAM) and outer space.

J-P prepared a 1-minute 4K video about the “Voices of Apollo 11” artwork. It includes Frank Sinatra’s 1964 recording of “Fly Me to the Moon”, which became closely associated with NASA’s Apollo space program. A copy of the song was played on a Sony TC-50 portable cassette player on the Apollo 10 mission which orbited the Moon, and also on Apollo 11 before the first landing on the Moon.

This 1/1 NFT will be the first NFT that JiiPee will be releasing from his vault of artworks created and compiled over decades as well as many current pieces that he’s working on. He has major plans for a series of his most compelling pieces which he calls “Night Fever” that he will release over the next year.

Ultimately, he wants to provide a 1/1 NFT of his Milky Way mosaic which captured worldwide attention when he released it early in 2021. The mosaic, which took 12 years to create, has been called “astonishing” (Smithsonian Magazine), “WOW!” (Space.com), “jaw dropping” (LiveScience) and “it will crush your tiny heart” (ScienceAlert).

Full information on the “Voices of Apollo 11” artwork is at http://jiipee.art. For further information on JiiPee’s work including his historic “Grand Mosaic of the Milky Way Galaxy”, please visit https://astroanarchy.blogspot.com/ and http://jiipee.art
