I visited Iceland in 2020 to highlight the issues of global warming and ever shrinking glaciers. I struggled to convey the sheer size and magnitude of the giant ice boulders that had broken away from the Jökulsárlón glacier from the ground as they are washed back onto the shore. Taking to the skies allowed me to more adequately portray quite how large the area was. The ice blocks often weighing tones stretch for a couple of miles along the aptly named Diamond beach. My aim was to produce a captivating body of work that would capture people’s attention and make them look deeper into the issues of global warming that affect us all. From the set of images, I produced this was the most powerful and impacting image, even being highly commended in the Nat Geo Landscape photographer of the year competition in 2021. License: Can be used to display privately, in commercial and non-commercial settings, or in groups with an unlimited number of participants. The license includes unlimited use and display in virtual or physical galleries, documentaries, and essays by the NFT holder. Provides no rights to create commercial merchandise, commercial distribution, or derivative works. The image (Diamond High) will never be replicated as an edition, in a collection, composite, or in any form of digital art.

This piece is inspired by the The Moirai or the Fates (Greek: Μοῖραι, “the three”), often known in English as the Norns. Their names are Clotho (spinner), Lachesis (allotter), and Atropos (unturnable). They are usually depicted weaving together the fabric of life. They are said to be impartial and unyielding, but some believe they can be bribed or persuaded to change a person’s fate. These goddesses were SO powerful that even Zeus himself couldn’t override their decisions. This piece was created using different AI tools to render different components and then composited together in Photoshop. The Pre-Raphaelite aesthetic was achieved using post-editing techniques including photobashing and overpainting, as well as color grading.

The collection explores the inner self as a centrepiece of our consciousness, body, and mind. The soul, our true self or the Aatma is depicted as a golden flower that shows how fragile, delicate and precious our soul is. Every flower is different and unique as we all are. As this is my genesis on SuperRare I wanted to be special. For the past year I’ve been silently experimenting with 3D and animation and I know it was time to make something bigger using those new mediums. Also I wanted to to have a deeper meaning, to be not immediately recognisable and to take time to form and unveil. After some experimentation with different angles, camera rotation and materials, I ended up with an animation that at first looks like an abstract but after a couple of seconds you suddenly recognise. I loved the idea that you don’t immediately grasp what you see and decide convey that to the whole collection. I wanted the artworks to have a centre where other elements form around. The initial concept was a ball of light or energy but later that changed to a flower which represents the fragility of the human soul. The name of the collection forms around this concept. The gold, glass and white materials were something that wasn’t intentional but I ended up with after some lots of experimenting. I knew I wanted the whole work to feel light and positive instead of dark and negative. In the end I love how the end result creates the feeling of something special and valuable, just like a jewellery.

“Ego Death” represents the mystical experience of transcending the human ego.
In this animation, the Grim Reaper has gained enlightenment while well known creatures from my past paintings watch in astonishment from behind.
The raw materials of this animation were created from my 2013 painting of the same name.
It was also the centerpiece and title of an epic solo show I had at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica,
CA where I turned the whole gallery into a funeral parlor for a “funeral for the ego”.
Complete with funeral goers, a funeral procession,
a weeping widow and an undertaker who read a eulogy while my character “Black Magick”
(who represented the ego) was lying in a nearby coffin, the whole affair (as well as one of the biggest synchronicities of my life involving the painting)
was captured in Mike Correll’s 2016 documentary about me entitled “Chet Zar: I Like To Paint Monsters”. Original “Ego Death” painting specs: 36×48″,
oil on canvas with custom bronze frame corners. Animation (1400x2000px) and audio created by me in Adobe After Effects and Logic Pro X.

And on the other side it’s fantasy, an unbearable poetry about our virtual experience. 
Many of us find refuge and understand more of who we are, 
thanks to our virtual friends. 
We see hope in a new Web, where decentralization brings us closer to each other and big companies go to sleep. 
This way, the metaverse presents itself as a place I’ve never been to, but remember vividly. In this series of drawings, I present you those memories. And you. Do you ever have memories of laces you never visited?

May 2020: The warm air held the promise of a lively summer, yet New Yorkers were feeling worn down from a springtime of separation and loss. Enter isolation cycles – symmetrical shapes chalked onto the grass of Domino Park. 
These circles allowed park goers to soak up the sunshine while also staying distanced. 
Though the concept of these circles felt like a simple solution to enjoy summer safely, they were juxtaposed against the background of a reeling city. 
8 feet in diameter and 6 feet apart, social distance circles became the center of a citywide debate – effective and innovative, or unnecessary and pointless?
