Illuminate

Lightning is one of my favorite subjects to photograph. It's exciting, dramatic, and one of the most unique natural artifacts you can capture. Lightning photographs are actually quite common nowadays, but the world of photography that combines these lightning storms and a beautiful landscape scene is very small. You practically need to become an amateur meteorologist to capture a thunderstorm in nature's finest scenery, and that's exactly what I've done over the last few years. Years of learning about storms has culminated in this image, 4 lightning bolts simultaneously striking the bottom of the Grand Canyon. I'll never forget this night, the sound of the thunder echoing trough the canyon walls, and the blinding flashes illuminating the whole scene. What a time.
