The Pacific Northwest is one of the most magical places on Earth and I couldn’t be more proud to call it home.
I’ve spent a countless amount of time exploring mossy rainforests and walking along the shores of the Pacific Ocean, but the mountains are a place that truly makes me feel alive.
For me, views like this are the best reward I could ask for after hiking up a grueling trail. For this specific photograph, I scrambled to the top of a peak with a group of friends where we set up camp and spent the night. As golden hour approached, I stood at the highest point and the landscape of the Olympic Mountains sprawled out before me in layers for as far as the eye could see.
The sunlight spilled through the valley and cascaded across the peaks like a rushing wave of gold before fading to the dark of night. Grandiose scenic views are always beautiful to me, but sometimes the minimal scenes, like these mountain layers, are the views that absolutely steal the show.
