Fallen Rays
It's not often that nature decides to put on a show... But when it does, it can be one of the most spectacular moments to experience.
As an adventure photographer, more often than not, the conditions while shooting are not ideal. Sometimes there are too many clouds or not enough clouds. Both being just as bad as the other. Unpredictable weather events are the bane of an adventure photographer's existence, seeing as our work is challenged by the moods of Mother Nature.
While exploring the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, the sunset decided to put on a show. Fall was in full swing with "peak" colours sweeping throughout the valley and all the way up the slopes of the mountains. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, light rays exploded from behind the clouds and began to cast a dappling array of light across the hillside.
These are the moments a photographer dreams of and I couldn't have been happier to photograph a scene such as this one, in a place that has quickly become one that is dear to me over the last few years of my life.
