In “Rise,” a new tree emerges from the Earth’s cavity, born of sky and soil. Inspired by the Greek myth of Gaia and Uranus, this work celebrates nature’s beautiful act of creation. The scene is anchored by a Ponderosa pine from the Navajo Loop basin.
* Part of the "Revival" series, inspired by the ancient terrain of Bryce Canyon National Park and themes of ecological survival and renewal. The work grew from memories of hiking its trails while pregnant with my second child, during a time of uncertainty about her growth. There among the amphitheaters, I witnessed weathered trees clinging to bare cliffs and stone, defying the arid terrain. Their resilience became a source of hope for the Earth and my children.
