In “Baptism,” a lone Bristlecone pine extends its root into a reflective pool, symbolizing spiritual cleansing, transformation, and the sacred cycle of rebirth.
This work completes a trilogy with “Invocation” and “Halo”. Where “Invocation” is the prayer and “Halo" the revelation, “Baptism” becomes the sacred act itself — the moment of awakening into new life.
* Part of the "Revival" series, inspired by the ancient terrain of Bryce Canyon National Park and themes of ecological resilience and renewal. The work grew from memories of hiking its trails while pregnant with my second child, during a time of uncertainty about her growth. There among the amphitheaters, I witnessed weathered trees clinging to bare cliffs and stone, defying the arid terrain. Their perseverance became a source of hope for the Earth and my children.
